Cyber Search Freebies are Coming!

Because I moved classrooms this year, I did most of my back-to-school classroom prep in May before summer even started. It was sort of a bummer then, but I've been able to enjoy my last week off a little more because our room is pretty much ready to go. I have been working on a few details though. Check out my filing cabinet! It's the contact paper I showed you a few weeks ago. The hardware pops right off the drawer and makes it sooo easy to stick the paper on. Also, my drawers always roll open because the floor isn't level and the latches don't actually latch anymore. I stuck little pieces of wood under the front and voila, no more attack of the drawers while I'm sitting at my desk. Hooray!

I also finished setting up my desk. I love how it sparkles with all of my new accessories. My room definitely needed a makeover. I'm so much happier with it now. Moving rooms really was a blessing in disguise. Okay, now on to the freebies...

Rachel Lynette and Laura Candler are hosting a Back to School Cyber search this Saturday, which means you'll be able to grab 12 freebies to use right away in your classroom.

I'll be giving away my one of my newest items, Community Building Activities for Back to School. It's so important to establish a caring, productive classroom right from the start. I like to do meaningful activities during this time that let my students get to know each other and our room while also providing me with some insight into their abilities and home life. My kit has five print-and-go activities, one homework scavenger hunt assignment, and one hands-on project.

I typically do one activity each morning throughout the first week of school, culminating with the hands-on paper plate face project on Friday afternoon. By the second week of school, our little community is humming right along because we're ready to have a productive year together and I've learned a lot about my students too.

Be sure to visit the other Cyber Search blogs and don't forget to grab your freebies on Saturday!
